Audio Editing

It is amazing what can be done to clean up audio and how big of a difference it can make.  Done right, audio editing can make a recording sound much more professional. Let us show you how good you can sound!

What We Can Do
  • Remove unwanted silence in the beginning, end, or anywhere in between.
  • Clean up cassette tapes’ excessive noise and/or hiss.
  • Remove parts of a conversation, such as unwanted words, sentences, or even whole topics.
  • Add music to your recording, such as an introduction and closing fade-in/fade-out, or low background music behind the person speaking.
  • Boost the volume of one or more speakers so they’re easier to hear.
  • Add effects such as chorus, reverb, delay, time stretch, pitch shift, equalization, normalization, etc.
Conversions
  • Cassette to CD / MP3
  • CD to MP3
  • MP3 to Other Digital Format
  • Other Digital Format to MP3
What We Can’t Do
  • Forensic audio – these are recordings being used for evidence in court trials.
  • We don’t do vinyl conversions.
Pricing

$60 per hour, with a 30-minute ($30) minimum. This is based on the time spent editing, not on the length of the recording.

Depending on how extensive an edit is needed will determine the amount of time required to complete the job. Obviously you need to have some idea of the cost, so we’ll give you a couple of guidelines.

  • For basic editing such as cutting off unwanted silence or noise at the beginning and/or end of a recording and mixing in music, usually will require between 30 minutes to an hour.
  • More extensive edits, such as cutting out words and sentences and other unwanted noises, or cutting out sections and splicing things together, etc., will require much more time.  Editing of this type is very tedious, so allow 4-6 hours of editing time for each hour of recording you have.

Prices are based on a 1-week turnaround time.  Depending on our schedule, it could be quicker than that.  If you need rush service (24-hour turnaround), add 50%. Rush service is subject to availability, so please Contact Us to let us know what you need and we’ll let you know what we can do to help.
